Interesting...

The Universe sure works in mysterious ways some times...after working 12 hour shifts for weeks now it seems I only had to work 2 half days in a row.
Taking advantage of this free time, I went again this evening to pay homage to the stones I had found over the last 3 years. When arriving, I went to the shore to sit among the rocks before climbing up the hill to view 'Utter'. Clearing my energy and meditating in the cool September air, many thoughts came to mind. I wondered for a answer to my question of where it is I'm going, what task lay before me now and thanking the Universe for my many blessing/ lessons of the last 10 years.
I noticed then at my feet were several large pieces of blue stone I hadn't seen before. Picking one up to examine I remembered this is quartzite used to make pipe bowl the native called 'peace pipes'. I choose a trangular shaped one for my altar and put it in my bag .
Then looking up, I could see a man, standing above me on the bluff. What a surprise it was to see him as I thought I was alone there, not being any other cars when I arrived...
Gathering up my things to start up the hill, I wondered who this person was who stood so quiet and obviouly watched me meditate. When I got to the top of the bluff he was still there watching me.

"Hello there." I said. "How are you this evening? " Fine." He told me, all smiles. I didn't recondnize him but he did me! "I watch your videos on 'youtube' ." he said. Sudden shock! I almost fell over remembering the recent one of me showing my toes while sitting in my bath tub, kittens walking the edge of it and lapping up the bath water...
"Really..." I exclaimed. "Yes, I enjoyed the view of Mavilette beach in the wind storm.", he smiled. O God .I thought. We then went on to exchange names ( Norm was his) , talk about my potatoe growing ( also on youtube) and our love of the ocean. After I walked up the shore several hundred feet where a kind soul ,(he told me his Uncle) had left lawn chairs. I sat in one looking out over the ocean waiting for him to leave so I could do my rite.
Lo and behold there was a schooner sailing on the horizion. I looked to see if he had noticed but he was back to me, looking the other direction. He did leave eventually and I made my way back to where the stone atlar was on the shore among the rocks. Taking the steel brush from my bag, I took sea water and scrubbed the paint graffitti from the altar as much as I could. I then said a cleansing prayer, asking for the negitivity to be removed from this sacred place.Lying a heart shaped white quartz I had found on the beach on it, I lit a offering of dried sweet pea to the Universe, said my 'prayers' , then throw my offering into the raising tide. The 'Utter' abliged me with a constant booming of graditude after so long being un-noticed...AND defiled. Sitting after watching the waves I noticed a black harbour porpoise. He surfaced many times. This gave me a great joy and 'wakening'. I had never seen one so close to shore before! How magic after asking the Universe to guide me ♥

Walking back to my car after I went down the twisted path, between the hills of grass and sand. There, sitting among the hills was a white car. O No...I wondered who THAT was. I wondered if they has seen me...
Getting closer I saw it was 'Norm", my 'youtube' fan.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" .he asked.
My heart jumped.I looked back at him thru the window of his car. I couldn't see any angel wings...

Hot Summer Day Walk

It was a beautiful warm day here in NS so I decided to go for a hike to the Bad Pitch on the Tusket River in Kemptville, Nova Scotia where I used to live. Its been 10 years sense I last saw the Pitch. Walking about 6 km onto the forest it was very peaceful. At the Tusket River where the Pitch I spend most of the afternoon sitting around, listening to the sounds of the River and trying to imagine what it would of been live here two hundred years ago when people traveled the road by stage coach and crossed the wooden bridge on thier way to Shelburne county. The stones with one old wooden rafter ( pictured above) are all that remains of that bridge. On the other side beyond view is a old road to Quinan,a community still very much populated and many of my friends live there. The main road to kemptville community is now far away from this spot. Only the canoers, hikers and 4x4 wheelers venture here now. It will probably be a while before I get back here again with work and trips planned for this year. Hoping to go back in the Spring when there aren't so many ferns to explore the old town along the river called Crowell Town and get some photos of the remains I found long ago when I lived here.

July 19,2011

Working 12 hour shifts for the last few weeks so haven't had much going on elsewhere. I did have some company stop in for breakfast the other morning and decided to make some home-made pancakes with home-made brown syrup for a treat. This causes a rave as they told me those pancakes were better than McDonald's.I worked there many years ago here in Yarmouth cooking breakfast so guess I still have the knack for their quisine plus remember the secret ingredient.
I imagine if word gets out I'll have to start my own franchise... : )

I'm finding lots of white quartz stones with tiny points of clear quartz showing tiny holes on my favorite beach. Very pretty. I didn't know we had such things here till recently. My camera was lost also this last month and noone has turned it in at the Walmart yet where I accidently left it. Hoping to have a new digital one soon so pictures of these can be added.

Pyrite Find

Walking the beaches of my native Nova Scotia is always a joy for me. This week, after working a 12 hour shift. I stopped at one of my favorite 'haunts' and decided to walk towards the cliffs of Clare's coast. After walking a mile or so along the rocky beach I noticed there was a glimmer in the rock above me. Going over...lo and behold, there was a large pyrite deposit among the rock there. What a treat to see the veins of pryite working thru the black stone! I did find a sample to bring home for my collection too .A large piece had broken off and I now have this to remind me of the find : )

IRON PYRITE OR FOOLS GOLD HEALING STONES

Iron Pyrite or Fool's Gold: (with iron) One of the most grounding stones in use today. Conducting, Energizing, Increases Wealth. Used for focus, practicality, logic, memory, clearing fuzzy thinking/scatteredness etc. like Hematite. Helps Yellow Chakra: Stomach, intestines, ulcers; sulfur and mineral assimilation, circulation, body acidity imbalances, depression, illusions/lack of clarity about situations/people. Great for grounding spiciness after meditation/psychic readings. Represents Sun's golden energy. A mineralized crystal that forms in clusters of metallic like cubes. Color varies from a bright gold or brass to shades of copper or green. Found in most of North America as well as in Chile and Peru. "Fool's Gold". Beneficial to the respiratory and circulatory systems. Connected to the transfer of oxygen from the lungs to the bloodstream. Helps the skin protect itself from the elements, and also aids the digestive tract, lessening irritation by ingested toxins. The most important gift of Pyrite, though, is its ability to aid mental capacity. Helps to balance creative and intuitive impulses with scientific and practical ones. communication skills can also improve with the help of Pyrite, which eases anxiety and frustration. Strongly suggested for people who tackle large conceptual ideas in business, the arts, or education. Effective in attracting money to its owner. The stimulation of the mind can be enhanced by using Pyrite in conjunction with Fluorite and Calcite.

June 17 th, 2011

Well...I've been home most of this week and bored.Spent most of the time tending my garden, mowing the lawn, working with the horses and writing some new poetry for a up-coming book called "Thru Crystal Air" which is a collaberation of many poets thru out North America and beyond!

I've been cooking, too, which usually I eat on the run with work and chores. I took the extra time to make home-made bread yesterday and today rice pudding. Both turned out very yummy so thought I would share that pudding recipe with my facebook friends ♥

Beverly's Easy Scrumpious Rice Pudding : )

Combine 1 1/2 cups of cooked rice, 1 1/2 cups milk, 4 tablespoons white sugar 1/2 reaspoon salt and dash of cinnamon & nutmeg in a sauce pan. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes stirring constantly so it won't stick. Then ad 1 egg ( beaten) mixed with 1/2 cup of milk. Cook for 2 more minutes then add 1 Tablespoon of butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Add 1/2 cup of raisins if desired ♥ Pour into 4 serving dished (1/2 cup servings0 and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cool then eat!

Pairings Event

I had a great time today at the Annual Pairing event at the local Yarmouth Museum. This was my second time participating. This year, in honor of the 250th birthday of Yarmouth, we choose artifacts from the Yarmouth Musuem for our subject. there were many interesting things to choose from. Shirley Hatfield and myself choose a beautiful recreation of a dress made from Oriental fabric. The dress also has a journal from the Captain of the vessel which brought it to Yarmouth and can be viewed at the Museum.

It was very nice to have a large gathering to view the many paintings of local artists and lisiten to the poetry and short stories from our Write-away group. The exhibit will be available for viewing till July 30th ♥

Silken Blossoms

by Beverly Pinkney

Tenderly he took her by a small hand

moving with the crimson gold of the silk’s soft swish.

To the dance floor they went as others panned

giving themselves up tto the music's bliss.

Her Captain moved her into the dance.

One long year she'ld awaited his ship's return

the garment she had worn by chance,

came from the Orient was quickly discerned.

Her red and gold cherry blossom dress

swayed softly to the walz that filled the Hall's air.

So sadly, his kindness and love she had missed

from World's apart: together again now they could share.

For the story of the silk blossoms told

of adventures and many happy times of Old.

May 2011 Up-date

Its May 20th already...we're had almost 2 weeks of rain and only 2 chances to mow grass...thankfully I was able to both times! Everything is nice and green but my seeds I've planted have gone moldy mostly. Those plants transplanted into the garden are doing great though so not a total loss at gardening yet ☼ My newest grand daughter, Payton, was born May 11th at 8lbs 11ozs. A beautiful girl with a smile yet like mommie Tiffany had as a baby ♥
I've added to my collection of healing stones this month.
I was able to get out to the beach off port Maitland at the first of the month and luckly to find a beautiful White Quartz geode which weights about 10 lbs! Forutnately also I was able to carry it the 20 minutes back to my car...THANK YOU UNIVERSE ; )
I also aquire a Celestite geode to add to my collection of healing stones from a local seller's on-line store named The Purple Vortex. Its a beautiful stone which has many healing qualities.
quote-"Its known to expand creativity and the expression of such through initiating ease of communication with the higher realms, Celestite has often been used by those in the arts. It is believed that the stone decreased negativity by putting an end to stress, anxiety, worry and fear, while helping to put a focus on the spiritual, thus attracting goodness and purity. It has been known to accelerate spiritual development, stimulate clairvoyant communication, aid in dream recall and astral travel, and to bring one a general sense of peace."

I've also just finished a poem titled 'Silken Blossoms' for the June 4th pairing exhibit at the Yarmouth Museum. Hoping local friends can come out and enjoy all the lovely work of local artist and poets.
