Potato Salad

Spuds...Canadians are famous for liking potatoes…when I was a child, all we seemed to eat was potatoes with ever meal. I still cook them a few times a month. Potato salad is a favorite and I make it low-fat using yogert instead of ‘miracle whip’ dressing. Its so easy. Just cook you potatoes till tender to the fork, cool, cube in a bowl then add a bit of onion, dressing , salt& cracked pepper and canned peas (if you like ‘em). Then ENJOY with your choice of cold cuts. Mine in this photo is barbequed chicken!

Peaches

Peaches-Medicinal Qualities Link

I'va always loved peaches! When I lived in Kemptville, I was lucky enough to have a pal with a tree in their back yard. They would invite me over to help myself to the delsious fresh fruit for eating and canning.  Now I buy them from the grocer to eat at every meal while available during late July/ early August . The fresh fruit is good for everything from common colds to fibrous tumors. They can be sueezed for juice, a lovely puree over ice cream and sliced to serve for a after dinner treat! Some day I plan to try and plant my own in the yard...

Covered Porch

Covered

This is my front veranda. I like to sit there in the evenings to cool off. My cats usually join me, purring & cuddling up to Mom for a while as I watch the neighbor’s next door try not to be too obvious about their wonderings what I’m up to these days! Their lucky enough to have a swimming pool and teenage children to enjoy it. Form my perch, I can hear them laughing about life and enjoying a swim. Being a natural recluse, I haven’t really got invited to tea. I like best to hide away in the shadows.
