A Cold Spring Start!

(Photo of Me ♥)

I was in volunteering this morning at the local Yarmouth Wesleyan Church for the Mac & Cheese Monday they hold for the local High school children. This is still being appreciated by over 230 children! its nice to see they with a full plate and a big smile! I saw this bicycle with a mail order motor go by as I waited for my ride home to Lake Darling. The cyclist said it will do over 40 miles per hour and yes, he was wearing a helmet! it would be cheap on gas but I guess I'll go by car...I don't think I'll try it anytime soon.

Working with Chakra Energies

Those who wish to embody the Tao
should embrace all things.
To embrace all things means first
that one holds no anger or resistance
toward any idea or thing,
living or dead, formed or formless.
To embrace all things means also that one rids oneself
of any concept of separation; male and female,
self and others, life and death.
Divison is contrary to the nature of the Tao.
Foregoing antagonism and separation, one enters
into the harmonious oneness of all things.

                                                        (attributed to Lao Tzu )

How does Chakras and Colors correspond with our relationships? How does this effect our well being? There are 22 energy points on our body that receive and submit energy. This effects our emotions, health and mental abilities.

The Four Agreements

I just finished my 'second' read on this little pocket book by Don Miguel Ruiz. Don Miguel Ruiz's book, The Four Agreements was published in 1997. For many, The Four Agreements is a life-changing book, whose ideas come from the ancient Toltec wisdom of the native people of Southern Mexico. The Toltec were 'people of knowledge' - scientists and artists who created a society to explore and conserve the traditional spiritual knowledge and practices of their ancestors. The Toltec viewed science and spirit as part of the same entity, believing that all energy - material or ethereal - is derived from and governed by the universe. Don Miguel Ruiz, born and raised in rural Mexico, was brought up to follow his family's Toltec ways by his mother, a Toltec faith healer, and grandfather, a Toltec 'nagual', a shaman. Despite this, Don Miguel decided to pursue a conventional education, which led him to qualify and practice for several years as a surgeon. Following a car crash, Don Miguel Ruiz reverted to his Toltec roots during the late 1970's, first studying and learning in depth the Toltec ways, and then healing, teaching, lecturing and writing during the 1980's and 90's, when he wrote The Four Agreements (published in 1997), The Mastery of Love (1999), The Four Agreements Companion Book (2000), and Prayers (2001). Don Miguel Ruiz survived a serious heart attack 2002, since when his teachings have been largely channelled through seminars and classes run by his followers, notably his sons Don Jose Luis and Don Miguel Ruiz Junior. Like many gurus and philosophical pioneers, Ruiz has to an extent packaged, promoted and commercialised his work, nevertheless the simplicity and elegance of his thinking remains a source of great enlightenment and aspiration. The simple ideas of The Four Agreements provide an inspirational code for life; a personal development model, and a template for personal development, behaviour, communications and relationships.

Here is how Don Miguel Ruiz summarises 'The Four Agreements':

agreement 1

Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

agreement 2

Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

agreement 3

Don’t make assumptions - Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

agreement 4

Always do your best - Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Memories in Light

I've had to add this beautiful photo of a prism caught in a diamond. I've always looked to the Light. Remembering my afternoon's as a child, hidden away in the attic of the large 4 apartment building that  my Great Grand Mother and Grand Mother rented, I can still see the dust dancing thru the gleaming sky, casting a gentle shadow in my imagination. The old attic had two rooms that were used in the 'old days' for the maid to live in. It had a rusted old bed against one wall and a broken wicker chair for my dolls to sit on.

The morning light was the best as the sun rose thru the window into the old rough boarded floor, casting the light into a beam that passed into the other room beyond. As it emanated, it twisted to reveal a prism that danced along the edge of the beam.  realizing, as a child does, it vibrated the air with a energy that erupted into a thought in my small mind. A remembrance, a story, a memory, or a time. To remember that the light is in itself, time...

Interesting...

The Universe sure works in mysterious ways some times...after working 12 hour shifts for weeks now it seems I only had to work 2 half days in a row.
Taking advantage of this free time, I went again this evening to pay homage to the stones I had found over the last 3 years. When arriving, I went to the shore to sit among the rocks before climbing up the hill to view 'Utter'. Clearing my energy and meditating in the cool September air, many thoughts came to mind. I wondered for a answer to my question of where it is I'm going, what task lay before me now and thanking the Universe for my many blessing/ lessons of the last 10 years.
I noticed then at my feet were several large pieces of blue stone I hadn't seen before. Picking one up to examine I remembered this is quartzite used to make pipe bowl the native called 'peace pipes'. I choose a trangular shaped one for my altar and put it in my bag .
Then looking up, I could see a man, standing above me on the bluff. What a surprise it was to see him as I thought I was alone there, not being any other cars when I arrived...
Gathering up my things to start up the hill, I wondered who this person was who stood so quiet and obviouly watched me meditate. When I got to the top of the bluff he was still there watching me.

"Hello there." I said. "How are you this evening? " Fine." He told me, all smiles. I didn't recondnize him but he did me! "I watch your videos on 'youtube' ." he said. Sudden shock! I almost fell over remembering the recent one of me showing my toes while sitting in my bath tub, kittens walking the edge of it and lapping up the bath water...
"Really..." I exclaimed. "Yes, I enjoyed the view of Mavilette beach in the wind storm.", he smiled. O God .I thought. We then went on to exchange names ( Norm was his) , talk about my potatoe growing ( also on youtube) and our love of the ocean. After I walked up the shore several hundred feet where a kind soul ,(he told me his Uncle) had left lawn chairs. I sat in one looking out over the ocean waiting for him to leave so I could do my rite.
Lo and behold there was a schooner sailing on the horizion. I looked to see if he had noticed but he was back to me, looking the other direction. He did leave eventually and I made my way back to where the stone atlar was on the shore among the rocks. Taking the steel brush from my bag, I took sea water and scrubbed the paint graffitti from the altar as much as I could. I then said a cleansing prayer, asking for the negitivity to be removed from this sacred place.Lying a heart shaped white quartz I had found on the beach on it, I lit a offering of dried sweet pea to the Universe, said my 'prayers' , then throw my offering into the raising tide. The 'Utter' abliged me with a constant booming of graditude after so long being un-noticed...AND defiled. Sitting after watching the waves I noticed a black harbour porpoise. He surfaced many times. This gave me a great joy and 'wakening'. I had never seen one so close to shore before! How magic after asking the Universe to guide me ♥

Walking back to my car after I went down the twisted path, between the hills of grass and sand. There, sitting among the hills was a white car. O No...I wondered who THAT was. I wondered if they has seen me...
Getting closer I saw it was 'Norm", my 'youtube' fan.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" .he asked.
My heart jumped.I looked back at him thru the window of his car. I couldn't see any angel wings...

January 12,2011

Well...after suffering a kidney stone attack on the January 6th I've started to finally feel again. I've been drinking LOTS of fluids and it could be I've rid myself of it. Time will tell. I usually have one after a turkey feast which this year the Yule season brought a abundence of turkey plus everything else that makes one fat and miserable...♥I started Yoga and maybe be practicing with others tonight...weather permitting. The sky is starting to blacken here and snow is expected. Work has been slow the last few weeks so hoping it will soon pick up again. I've been doing many Spiritual readings for those seeking answers. Always glad that people can find me ♥

January 3,2011

Home today cleaning out my book case and found a bunch of short stories i wrote 3 years ago. Not sure how they got there as I moved to this home in April of 2009 and was sure they were lost for ever... Must of been the influence of my visit to hear the mystery of my friends "occurrence".

Seems she had given her Son a key chain that belonged to her Father ( now deceased) back in November of last year. The key chain had a penny made into it and the story was her father always said he would never be broke because of the penny. Her Son, who works in New Brunswick for a few weeks at a time then home for a few days, put his locker key for the job site on it.

When he came home for Christmas, he said he had lost his locker key and the key chain. This was very disappointing to him. While he was home it was decided he would take back to New Brunswick some winter clothing to use on the job. He packed his bag and put on a winter coat that had been stored in the closet for almost 2 years. Arriving in Digby he reached the Irving station, then went inside to get munchies for the ferry trip to St John, New Brunswick. Reaching into the pocket of the coat her felt something strange...putting it out it was his key & the key chain.

My friend wanted to know if I had any idea how this could of happened...

I had a similar experience when I worked at the shelter. I had lost a garnet earring at home, looked everywhere for it with no luck. I went to work a few days later, was on my knees cleaning a cat cage thinking what could of happened to the earring...suddenly, the earring dropped out of the air above me landing in front of me on the floor! This was witnessed by another employee as he was entering the room at about the same time. We both had no idea how this could of happened. ( ..he did mention it happened just as HE walked into the room which may of had some influence on this...funny guy he was ☼)

The only explanation I can give on all accounts is that we are cared for by the Universe...what we need it always there for us. Even if we need a small 'miracle' to keep us going ♥

........."Save our Cat"..........♥

Long time friend, Doreen Sauliner stands in front of her family's home. She along with many will lose their jobs because of the loss of the "Cat" ferry in Yarmouth,Nova Scotia.

Well, as most of my friends know I have been unemployed now for 9 months and still no sign of a job, not for lack of looking. Did work briefly for a wonderful resort, Trout Point Lodge in Kemptville Nova Scotia but because of a slow tourist season was let do prematurely so back on "EI" I goes. ( ...got lost over night in the woods, too but thats another story...)Trying to get back into school only to find out the course I wish to take maybe full  so will have to wait maybe another year to attend...crap...and time ticks on...Still doing the Volunteer Special Constable Investigating for Nova Scotia Provincal SPCA in Halifax which gives me lots of things to do while waiting for the right job to turn up.
Meanwhile, lots of other citizians here face the same problem .They will  not have a job and the possiblity of losing ALL they have worked for because of no work in this end of Nova Scotia to support the thousands that will be affected by the lost of our Cat Ferry to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This ferry brings Tourists to the area in the Spring to Fall season to visit our Provience and take in the many festivals and sights in our beautiful Town and country side. Its amazing how the local politicians have let this happen to our small struggling town. For the last twenty years tons of money has been spent on up-grading and redoing the public areas.
Still the locals are trying to approach Goverment in hope of saving the ferry. Lots turned up today to make a music video that will be sent to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Hopefully he likes Cats and will respond favorable when he sees others want this "Cat:" to stick around...

...as the Agate rolls......

For those who know me well realize I love to collect semi-precious and not so semi-precious stones. Friends often traveling abroad bring me back beach stones making me the best person to 'buy" for... : ) No T-shirts, please. I would rather have a piece of their vacation paradise! I have them from Dominican to  Arizionia to Newfoundland...ect. Natural Quartz and Amethyst crystals are my favorites and just today I purchased my self a lovely Valentine for me...A Amethyst geode ♥
Agates and beach glass is another favorite and I can spend hours looking thru the stoney beaches looking for both. I love the way the sun catches the glimmer and its like I've found a hidden treasure just for me. Nova Scotia beaches have lots to offer for treasure hunting agate lovers.

Rock Find

Last March I happened on a rock in my area after having a dream about it. It had several carving on it and on talking to local people, noone had documented it. I contacted local Historian, Terry Doucet, who on examining it said it was at least 700 years old and was probley carved by Portuegese who fished these waters long before the French landed and named it Arcadia.I was inspired to write this poem about my find...hope you enjoy!

Quest Divine

I read what no man sees
A vision comforts me
Of the name on the rock
Long has it lived in my soul

Steps echo the past
Sending light to guide
Knowing of purpose fills my heart
As I walk the paths of Mir

Turning,spiriling,twisting thoughts
Lead straight to shadowed quest
Hidden in minds mangled maze
The wave’s stillness smooths

Tame to calm the beast with-in
Centre is found with reconcile
Now before the stone I stand
The glow my spirit has seeked

Sweet water stands to taste its wine
From the cup my lips reveal
O Moon, O Sun together in one
Fruits of the mystery tree combined

The stone of which the sword I pull
Its tip hints of mica shards
The knowledge of self fills my heart
The gift is mine Divine
