Looking for Something

I've been off work on sick leave sense late June and don't look like I'll be getting back anytime soon. My symptoms are still there except the bloating is gone for the most part. I'm still very weak and trying to walk everyday for 30 minutes or so. Its all I can do to drag myself around the block. I did see the doctor on Friday and my prognoses doesn't look that good for getting there anytime soon.
I decided its time to work on short stories and poems again. I sent a fellow tenant out to buy me some new pencils and a work book to pass the time. I'm hoping my past dragons will speak and the light will send words to tell the tale.....life to the dragons will return....

Connecting Tree Auras

Tree Auras-

Energy to grow by…

I have often wondered as I have walked the softwood
cloaked trails of my local area, if anyone else takes
the time to stop and notice the trees. There are lots
to learn from watching trees. They
grow into the environment they inhabit, depending
on the minerals found in the soil, the terrain and
water available. They provide a home, safety for
birds, windbreaks for humans, plus other things
as recycling carbon monoxide into oxygen for
 the whole planet.

Sitting with them during meditation, one can often
connect with the energy they provide for us.
I often try to focus on one individual tree, as
there are many varieties here in Nova Scotia.
Quietly observing for several minutes.
My senses begin to connect with the tree.
I find in my mind the energy stored with-in is
branches as it begins to glow to a halo.
A prism unfolds with-in the branches, moving
to the tip of every bough. Rainbow colors
spiraling round and round the tree until it
has filled with a lucid light. The tree speaks
to me of all its days, as it reached to the sky.
It tells of harder times, when the wind has ripped
its bows, stripping it of its personal protection,
only to have new growth there later. Its scent
fills my nostrils with fresh fragrance that moves
thru my body, healing my muscles, re-focusing
my mind then returning to the air surrounding me.
I stay as long as possible with the tree. Its time
has no meaning, I think...I have that internal clock
ticking constantly, reminding me of something else
to do. How sad for me that I can't stay with the living
wood that the Creator has provided for my enjoyment...today.

Realizing
beauty,
 my nature connection
I return
a mundane world,
walking up
the lane to

 my home…☼

"Trylen Conspiracy"

I've recently released my novel  "Trylen Conspiracy"  at lulu.com.
What is the meaning of Trylen? It is in fact a swedish word meaning "the divide". I thought it was perfect for my fact-filled fictional short story writings of my book. Take a free look at the part of the first chapter at lulu.com link...

A Nova Star Cruises Voyage!

I was privileged to have a turn trip cruise July 8 & 9 on the Nova Star from Yarmouth. Our day started foggy, with the bug light at Bunker's Island, John's Cove beach and Cape Forchu Light house showing themselves thru the mist self on the pass by.

The water's were fairly calm on the crossing to Portland. I was able to take advantage of the Aqua Room activities which included a new release movie, Monument Men and a on-ship Bingo game, winning, too!
The food was wonderful in Fathons Buffet and the formal Dining room was wonderful as well. There's also a sport's bar with 2 large screen TV's for the guy's. I liked the piano lounge, personally, at the stern of the ship and was able to watch porpoises jumping all the way to USA.
I was invited to visit the bridge of the ship and meet the first Mate to see how the vessel is run. I even got to sit in Captain John Payne's  chair!

We arrived in Portland just after 7pm, checked thru customs and were back on the ocean in time to see the harbour at sun-set. It was beautiful!

I tried my luck in the casino, watched the disco for a while, drank a Labatt's Blue and settled in the the night trip home, rocked to sleep by the waves ♥
That morning I enjoyed a buffet breakfast with just about everything you can think of and was home by 8:30am. Loved it and can't wait to travel the Nova Star again soon.

Here's some other shots of the trip. Enjoy!

Crows

"A old friend"

I’ve always loved crows and rescued one as a child. It had an injured wing which healed over a week, then was released back to the yard behind Bonavesta house where I lived.
I never knew my father that well growing up. I was raised by my grand-mother till I was 16 years old, lived with my bio mother for 2 horrible years, then ventured out into life by myself.
I was talking to an old family friend who related to me a story of my father and the crows he used to tend as a child. My father, Bob Wells, was a great animal lover, who brought home every stray he found as a young child. At age 9 years,he started feeding the local crows hanging around the train tracks on Water Street, Yarmouth, staying to watch them feed. After many times, he started to talk to them, calling ‘crow, crow, and crow’. They would stop to look his way, noticing him there not far from the crumbs. Eventually, Bob tried sitting not far with crumbs beside him. At first the crows ignored him. He would wait patiently, then leave after a wait, taking those crumbs with him. The crows noticed this, of course. Greed got the best of some and they would sneak close enough to grab a few then fly off. My father smiled knowingly… Several weeks went by, when one day a crow got right next to Bob. He never moved, but spoke softly to the black beauty. After several days, he held out his hand with crumbs and waited again… one crow got very brave and ate out of his hand one day. This became a daily ritual till one day the crow Ate the crumbs then Dad tipped his finger and patted the smooth black feathers on his neck. He flew off but returned the next day for his hand feeding. with a quick pat. Then finally one morning, young Bob waited for the crow to arrive. When he was done his crumbs Bob quickly reached down and grabbed the crow’s leg! A great confusion of crow screams, flapping feathers and laughing arouse. The local Water street workers came from their salty shacks to witness Dad catching his first live crow! He tied a string to his leg and ‘flew’ the crow home to his bewildered mother. She was shocked and cried. It was bad luck to bring a crow into the house to live and not only that, but the crow was mad, hurt and not longer trusted him. I’ll let him go then. He took the crow out into the back of the house on Main Street and cut the string from his leg. Mad, the crow flew to the top of the house to tell him off one last time before disappearing back toward Water Street.

The crows never trusted him that much again but they would still come and wait for the crumbs, from the roof next door, till Bob left. Smiling…

Lighting Up the Matter

I was looking thru my father’s old tool box the other day and found a small light bulb.  It seems to be made into three parts, all aluminum pieces. After examining it for a few minutes, I realized it was broken. Never to work again till someone smarter finds it...
Way back as a child, I remembered my Uncle taking me outside at night to see one just like it. He stuck it into the ground and after a minute or so, it began to glow in the darkness. After asking him how it worked, he replied,” Only Uncle Nick knew.” My father’s is missing a wire on the bottom that was placed into the ground. The chemistry of it? Not sure. His no longer works... I wondered who was Uncle Nick though. I never met him...
