Surviving February 2010

After weeks of blah weather yesterday was a basking +5 celius degrees so braved out into the frozen world for some exercise and fresh air. Having lived here all my life I love the ocean so went to the Churn for a walk along the shore then to the light house stopping at the John's Cove beach for a walk on the beach & into the forest there. Found some lovely old trees scarred by time and weather. Its amazing how they live thru the cold winds and salt air with our coast often under seige of stormy winter weather. Others were out enjoying the day with their dog and I seen lots of wild life roughing it out in the bush, was accually able to get a picture of a big doe who calmly looked back at me a hundred feet away with out blinkning an eye! Very brave ♥
Hoping the ground hog was wrong and I'm able to begin enjoying more of the beaches soon!

practicing...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gQfBmqQlAQ

I've been trying for years to learn to play guitiar. Its always been my dream sense a child to pick up a instrument and strum out a melody so beautiful that tears would well in the eyes pof anyone in hearing distance...For 2 years I took weekly lessons. My teacher, Mike, was very patient with me., going over the chords and technics that make music. Alas this is not to be...after many years I still can only chord and strum basic notes. I don't seem to have what it takes to be a super star... : (
Still I practice hoping someday I will sound at least decent enough to play for friends...
Please be kind when you watch the video...♥

...♥... waiting for Spring to come...

Another cold day...not too much to do but sit and read and eat... Cooked a leg of Venison a friend gave me for supper along with a apple crisp. My dog drooled by my side till I finally gave him a chunk to chew on. I'm sure me smiled up at me ♥ I really have to think about re-starting my walking schedule if I keep up much longer. That or get snow shoes for the horses...
Seems everyone has the same complaints about the weather. I wish I could turn up the heat outside for just long enough to have a pleasant  swim in the lake...Aaaaaaaa!!!!

Terrible...

Been living in frozen conditions for the last 2 week...temperatures of minus -10C have been creating havic for me and others.Everyone has frozen pipes, frozen cars and frozen feet because nothing seems to warm up...even : (
February is always the frostest month for us in Nova Scotia and soon, I hope, April will be here and the Sun will start to warm the ground for planting. I've been thinking about my seed stash and wondering what the soil in my new home will yield. Never got much time to collect sea-weed in Fall , still hoping I will soon be able to see the beach from under its blanket of thick ice ,to be able to go with buckets and collect some to spread out before its time to till the ground. I did manage to have some herbs and perennials planted last summer when I finally decided this was where I wanted to be so some work is done ☼

Rock Find

Last March I happened on a rock in my area after having a dream about it. It had several carving on it and on talking to local people, noone had documented it. I contacted local Historian, Terry Doucet, who on examining it said it was at least 700 years old and was probley carved by Portuegese who fished these waters long before the French landed and named it Arcadia.I was inspired to write this poem about my find...hope you enjoy!

Quest Divine

I read what no man sees
A vision comforts me
Of the name on the rock
Long has it lived in my soul

Steps echo the past
Sending light to guide
Knowing of purpose fills my heart
As I walk the paths of Mir

Turning,spiriling,twisting thoughts
Lead straight to shadowed quest
Hidden in minds mangled maze
The wave’s stillness smooths

Tame to calm the beast with-in
Centre is found with reconcile
Now before the stone I stand
The glow my spirit has seeked

Sweet water stands to taste its wine
From the cup my lips reveal
O Moon, O Sun together in one
Fruits of the mystery tree combined

The stone of which the sword I pull
Its tip hints of mica shards
The knowledge of self fills my heart
The gift is mine Divine

December 16,2009

Long time sense my last post. Have been living in agony sense a injury from my horse falling on me bruised ribs...still sleeping in a chair some nights as lying down is just too painful. Have to be careful not to do too much in a day as this contributes to it...Finally in the last week I have had luck getting help with my shelter for the horses. They now have a larger building both can get into out of the weather comfortably.

With the Yule Season here, there's lots of activities going on and have been getting out to enjoy them a bit.Hard to sit still very long with aches and pain! Good to get out though, and see old & new friends. Hope all my friends get to enjoy the season!

Crow Prayer

Brother Crow,

Teacher of Divine Universal Law,

Thank you, Spirit for the Knowledge you bring,

Please protect and guide my intuition so I may follow the path my creator has set for me.

Help me to stand in my truth so I may bring it with peace to those I met on my journey,

and balance to my soul and remind me "I am" one with All things...
