Been feeling the crunch of the Yule Holidays ...all that dark chocolate, spiced-rum eggnog and other delicacies have taken their toll so I decided to start my diet on January 1st... after my annual meal of creamed lobster of course ♥
So far so good. I've been keep a diary and sticking to a 1800 calorie daily intake. I refuse to limit myself so a treat of choclete or chips is included...lol! So far i've lost 5 lbs.
Now I'm old enough and been on many diets in my life so I know this sudden weight loss isn't going to be this fast for long. I've tried to include a extra long daily walk ( with Elf of course) and tonight started a Yoga class with a friend. I've never attempted yoga before so was very amused to find I'm actually more limber that I thought. I could get my leg almost over my head with ease. My friend struggled to do the routine so will have a willing partner to get ready for next class. This is a good thing for me ♥
I'm hoping by next weekend my pants won't be nearly so tight and my Spring I'll be several sizes smaller than I am now... chocolate & chip rations deciding...

Home today cleaning out my book case and found a bunch of short stories i wrote 3 years ago. Not sure how they got there as I moved to this home in April of 2009 and was sure they were lost for ever... Must of been the influence of my visit to hear the mystery of my friends "occurrence".
Seems she had given her Son a key chain that belonged to her Father ( now deceased) back in November of last year. The key chain had a penny made into it and the story was her father always said he would never be broke because of the penny. Her Son, who works in New Brunswick for a few weeks at a time then home for a few days, put his locker key for the job site on it.
When he came home for Christmas, he said he had lost his locker key and the key chain. This was very disappointing to him. While he was home it was decided he would take back to New Brunswick some winter clothing to use on the job. He packed his bag and put on a winter coat that had been stored in the closet for almost 2 years. Arriving in Digby he reached the Irving station, then went inside to get munchies for the ferry trip to St John, New Brunswick. Reaching into the pocket of the coat her felt something strange...putting it out it was his key & the key chain.
My friend wanted to know if I had any idea how this could of happened...
I had a similar experience when I worked at the shelter. I had lost a garnet earring at home, looked everywhere for it with no luck. I went to work a few days later, was on my knees cleaning a cat cage thinking what could of happened to the earring...suddenly, the earring dropped out of the air above me landing in front of me on the floor! This was witnessed by another employee as he was entering the room at about the same time. We both had no idea how this could of happened. ( ..he did mention it happened just as HE walked into the room which may of had some influence on this...funny guy he was ☼)
The only explanation I can give on all accounts is that we are cared for by the Universe...what we need it always there for us. Even if we need a small 'miracle' to keep us going ♥

A very lazy day today...Did my usual... meditation in the morning, feeding/caring of critters and house chores. Wanted to take Elfie for his walk but started raining... : (
Then I sat around all afternoon waiting to go to my friends house. Going for supper and to hear her story about a mysterious occurence they've had experienced recently of a paranormal kind...Sounds like a adventure for sure ♥
I always love these adventures and are often asked to come "take a look" to see what I think♥

First morning of 2011
Its 7:40 am on January 1st, 2011...the sun is just peeking from behind the horizion.Theres a mist in the air that is cooling to the bareness of my arms... I look up at the lightning sky , as a crow calls the dawn behind me in the wood. I listen to the sounds of the forest around me starting to wake.Dew drops falling, ...the rustle of leaves as my dog sniffs the freshness of the ground. A New Beginning... I think to myself...
My first call of the day is from a lady who wants a Spiritual reading. I ask her to come to my home for 10:30am so I will have time to prepare (meditation) and care for my critters.
I always love how the Universe looks after me. How I feel i am needed...I love to help others who seek the same. Usually they find, as I did, that all we need is with-in our own heart. Look to your center and all the love you want is already inside you ♥

Happy New Year 2011
Sitting here at my computer watching the birds at the feeder makes me realize how lucky I am to be in such a wonderful, beautiful, FREE country where I can walk down a busy street and not have to worry about terrorist waiting to blow up the neighbourhood. I have dependable, (almost) free health care, clean water to drink and a good supply of foods available at the local store so I don't have to wait in line for a daily meal.
There are lots of places in the World today where just getting out of bed in the morning can be frightning. People starve to death on the city streets in card-board boxes. You regularly hear of people getting blown up on their way to work in the morning on trains and buses and random shootings at cross-walks...not to say it couldn't happen here.
Here in Nova Scotia I guess we're agreeable with our neighbours. Most will help you in your in trouble, be it a car broke down on side of the road or helping a person cross the street. Our Christmas Daddy's helps thousands of children aand their familys at Christmas and local food banks feed those in need. Even our Welfare system is one of the best so people who can't support them selves can have a hand till they get back on thir feet...There are programs to help people go back to school if they can't find work and train them. Anyone can start a business and get help with this if they need to.
Stop and think how lucky we are ♥
Remember to do at least one thing everyday that you don't get thanks for but helps a person or situation ♥

March Maddness...been trying to get some things done around the yard with the mild weather finally here. Plus 4 right now and the frost is quickly evaporating off the wood pile I left uncovered yesterday. Our road froze on Wednesday with the snow we had so I was able to get my car home. The road still isn't the best and heavy logging equipment still is off limits. I hear chain saw somewhere in the distance yesterday so still activity going on.Guess they'll have the logs ready for when the road is open again. The horses are enjoying the mild weather ,too and have started to shed their winter coats. Lots of brushing ahead of me there. Soon I'll be riding again.

I decided to put a larger sill on my front window so I can start some seeds for my garden. Been going thru them and deciding what to plant. Can hardly wait to till the soil and get started ... : )
